LifeGroups are where we can grow together in a smaller setting
_________________
At Southgate, we grow and connect in community throughout the week. We believe every person should be growing in their faith in a smaller setting. For kids, that's Sundays & Kidville GROW, for young adults that's Mondays, for students that's Tuesday night AMPED, for everyone else that's being connected in any of the groups below.
A Group for everyone
study groups
Study Groups are a great place to start growing in community with people at Southgate. You can choose from a variety of formats, including our LifeClasses, book studies, and Alpha.
Affinity groups
Affinity groups are ongoing groups that gather together under shared interests or similar stages in life. Whether you have small children, are retired, or want to get together with other men or women, there is a group for everyone!
home groups
Home Groups are for people wanting to grow deeper with others and in their faith. We recommend that you attend Southgate for at least 6 months, and have formed strong relationships with others before starting or joining a home group.
study groups
Study Groups are a great place to start growing in community with people at Southgate. Sometimes it is easier to get to know people in smaller groups where there isn't a long time commitment. Study groups can vary from 5 weeks to 10 weeks. Some groups are more discussion lead, and some are classroom-style. Check out some of the classes we offer regularly, or contact Pastor Kevin if you think you might be interested in leading a study yourself!

GLOW Women's Bible Study
GLOW is a Bible study for women of any age that takes place at the church from September till June. This group includes both Bible study and relationship building through prayer and fellowship. This fall we are beginning a study on the Holy Spirit, who He is and what He does in our lives as believers.

UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE
This class gives you the opportunity to explore some key questions to help you understand the Bible better. In this class we will be asking:
What is the Bible, and where does it come from?
What is the story that it is telling? And what is being communicated in every book of the Bible?
How can it help us in our everyday lives?
Contact Pastor Kevin for more information.

Men's Bible Study
Join our Men's Bible Study on Mondays at 6:30pm. We continue our study of Ephesians.
Contact John Tucker or Phil Sockett for more information.
MONDAYS AT 6:30PM

Financial lifeclass
Register for your space in our free Financial LifeClass "I Was Broke Now I'm Not". This 6-week class gives a great foundation of budgeting & financial tools for anyone at any life stage.
Contact Pastor Kevin for more information.

Alpha
Alpha is a place to explore the Christian faith with others. Each session has time for connection, a talk, and space to discuss and ask questions. It is designed for people without a church background or who wouldn’t call themselves a Christian. It’s an opportunity to invite your friends to hear the gospel and explore a relationship with Jesus. You can even attend with them!
Thursdays at 6pm
Starting October 23

Practicing the Way
We believe in the enriching value of growing deeper in our faith in a caring community! We enjoy a light meal together every week, after which we watch and discuss the video series by John Mark Comer and encourage each other on our journey.
Please watch this space for our new classes starting in the Fall. Contact René Badenhorst for more information.
Practicing the Way: Solitude
Thursdays, 6pm (4 sessions)
Starting Oct 30
In an increasingly distracted and noisy world, we need solitude more than ever. The practice of solitude mimics Jesus’ rhythm of retreat and return: retreat from people and distractions to be with God, in order to return to community in love and service.

home groups
Home Groups are an opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level, while diving deeper into your relationship with God. We recommend that these groups be joined when you are willing to have a high level of commitment, and therefore it is wise to wait at least six months before joining or leading a LifeGroup. If you are considering joining one, or you would like to start one, please contact Pastor Kevin to begin that conversation.
